MEET THE STAFF

Miranda Brim

Miranda is an amazing music teacher at the Bruneau-Grandview School District 365, teaching elementary general music as well as beginning, Jr. High and High School Band. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Millikin University, and one day hopes to earn her Master’s degree in music therapy. She is lighthearted, kind, and genuine. Miranda joined Tuned-In Achievement & Event Center shortly after we opened and we are a better facility because of it. She brings joy to everyone around her.

Miranda is a classically trained violinist, has played in multiple symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles, as well as a fiddler in country rock, bluegrass and praise bands. She has a beautiful touch and amazing technique. When teaching string instruments she uses a blended method of Suzuki and other methods. Miranda enjoys playing in a group, is a fantastic soloist, and her students reflect those same skills. She strongly encourages reading music and not solely relying on patters and playing by ear. While those skills are important, reading music is essential. She teaches beginning through advanced violin and viola, as well as beginning to intermediate cello and ukulele.

Miranda is also our “band instrument” teacher at Tuned-In! She teaches beginning trumpet, clarinet, trombone, baritone and concert percussion.

Kari Stockwell

Kari teaches our piano, voice, and flute lessons. Kari Stockwell has a Master’s Degree in Distance Education from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s in Curriculum Development from Wayland Baptist University. Upon arriving at Mountain Home AFB, Kari became a part of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in which she quickly became an employee as their Music Director.  She continues to hold the position of Music Director, as well as president of the Idaho Counsel of Catholic Women.  She has been teaching piano, flute, and voice for 23 years, 12 of them in Mountain Home, starting in her home and then working as a contracted vendor within a brick and mortar business. Establishing herself as a distinguished and qualified teacher of Mountain Home, she eventually outgrew the contracted space and chose to open her own business here in town.  She has experience organizing concerts, banquets, and educational conferences through her church and Civil Air Patrol where she holds the rank of Major. If you happen to catch Kari when she is not teaching, running a business or organizing and participating in community events, she loves to read!
